The Hearbeat

Today we went to the doctor and got to hear the hearbeat! It took her a couple of minutes to find it, but once she did, it was very clear. I cried a little bit and then started laughing! That made the doctor lose the heartbeat, but she found it again to time it. She said it was 160bpm, which is great! She said everything sounded healthy and I am doing great, too! I think Jason is also starting to believe it more, too! I go back on March 20th for a check-up. I love my doctor too. This was the first time I met her and she is wonderful. She answered all of my questions and then some and really took her time with me!

Oh an I need to clarify about my morning sickness....according to a book I read, morning sickness is with or without actually getting sick. I did feel naseous for about 5 weeks, but never got sick! Yeah for me! After 9 weeks, that all went away and I am feeling almost 100% myself again. I am looking forward to the months ahead!

Tomorrow!

Well, tomorrow is our next doctor's appointment! I am nervous and excited all at the same time. We are going to hear the heartbeat! I can't believe it has already been 4 weeks since my first appointment. I have been feeling GREAT the past week. I am still really tired, but the queasy feeling is gone! I have not noticed any physical changes yet and tomorrow will tell if I've gained any weight. I have become a little more hungry lately. Tonight we went to Olive Garden for dinner and I ate 2 helpings of salad, an entire bowl of fetuccini alfredo, 2 breadsticks and then we shared a piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert! I know, holy cow! I will post more tomorrow after our appointment.

Valentine's Day

Yesterday was Valentine's Day. Jason and I just stayed at home because we figured it would be too crowded to go anywhere. Jason got me the book What to Expect When You're Expecting, which is what I told him I wanted. He also surprised me with a gift card to Motherhood Maternity and some cocoa butter (so I don't get any stretch marks). I got Jason a pair of boxers and a box of Girl Scout Cookies, which he consumed the entire box of in one day!(He seems to be the one doing all the eating!) We are also going to spend some time together tomorrow, going fishing. For dinner, we ordered heart shaped pizzas from Papa John's and they were really good! After eating them, I felt great! Which was a big change from early in the week. I had a fever and aches on Wednesday night but luckily was over it by the next day. I went ahead and stayed home from work on Thursday and Friday just so I could rest up and not take the chance of getting sick again. Now we are anxiously awaiting our February 25th appointment.

First Blog

Hey Everyone! I am trying this out to see how it works. I think this will be the best way to keep everyone posted on my progress. Today I am 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant! We go to the doctor on the 25th to hear the heartbeat! I am really excited for that! I have been doing good; just VERY tired! No morning sickness....YEAH! Jason is doing good; still not really believing it yet, but I know that will change soon! He is being a really big help around the house, which really helps me since I have been feeling so lazy. I hear that passes after the first trimester, so I only have 4 1/2 weeks to go. I hope everyone is doing well! We love and miss you all!
