Today was an exciting day! Babies R Us called to let us know that our glider came in! I called Jason right away and told him that we had to go get it today and set it up. I have been waiting for this to come in so I can send some pictures to my Grandpa Sossi, because this was his gift to us! We love him so much and can't thank him enough for buying this for us. It is very comfortable and as you can see by the pictures, there is plenty of room for Jason to sit in it! I just wanted to share this with everyone. I also wanted to post a couple of pictures from a few weeks ago. I opened the doors to Logan's room to let it air out a little and when I went back a little while later, you can see where I found Mocha. She already loves Logan and wants to protect him!

Baby Shower, 28 Weeks and Childbirth Classes...
Well, I have a few things to update on. This past weekend was my first baby shower! It was very nice and fun and we got some really cute stuff for Logan. My friend Cheryl from church had the shower for me. Despite my diabetes, I did have some cake, and it was YUMMY!! My blood sugar did go up from it, but the nurse said I shouldn't miss out on my cake. I have been really sticking to the diet like I should be, so I don't think a little cake is going to do too much harm.
I am now 28 weeks along and feeling good! I don't go and see Dr. Duran until next Friday, July 10th, so I don't have any updates on weight gain or what she even thinks about me being diabetic. But I will post right after that appointment. I will also post again this Thursday, because we will be getting our 4D sonogram done! I am SO excited to see little Logan again.
Tonight was also our second childbirth class. It went a lot better than last week and we had a lot more questions for her. We discussed a lot about labor and delivery, which is something I definately have lots of questions about. At the end of every class we have to practice relaxation techniques for about 20 minutes. Jason usually tries to make me laugh, so I can't look at him during that time. Logan also likes to move around a lot then, just as he does when I am trying to go to bed at night. I think he is going to be a night owl like his daddy.
That is all for right now. Look for some cute pictures on Thursday!

27 Week Belly
Here are some pictures of my belly at 27 weeks.....with 13 weeks to go! Although, it could be a little sooner because I have gestational diabetes. Yes, I failed my 3-hour glucose test so now I have to watch my diet and prick my finger 4 times a day!!! It shouldn't be that bad, once I get the hang of things. There is just a lot to look at as far as the diet goes. The nurse said that 7% of pregnant women will end up with gestational diabetes and they really don't know why. She said my body just isn't breaking down all the sugars I'm taking in, like it should. So, as long as I follow the diet and monitor my blood sugar, there will be no harm to myself or Logan. It is going to make me even healthier in the long run! I pretty much have to cut out ALL simple sugars....which is what Logan is making me crave! But, I can have a little bit here and there, such as cake at my showers, so I'm looking forward to that. Other than that, Logan and I are doing great! I continue to feel him move around a lot, especially at night when I lay down on my side (he does not like this and starts poking at me to move). We go on July 2nd to have our 4D sonogram and then I go back to the doctor on July 10th. Hopefully tomorrow we will be purchasing our glider for his room.....thank you Great-Grandpa Sossi! I will post some pics when we get it.

Glucose Test
Well, I went for my glucose test and an appointment yesterday. They gave me an orange drink and said I had 3 minutes to drink it. I went ahead and gulped it down, just to get it over with and it really wasn't that bad. Then they called me back for my appointment. Dr. Duran got called to a delivery so I just had to see the nurse. I gained 6 pounds and Logan's heartrate was 150, which is what it usually is. While she was finding his heartbeat, I could feel him moving around; probably from the sugary drink :) he likes sweet stuff! The nurse said he sounded great and that was the end of my appointment. I then had about 30 minutes until they needed to test my blood, so Jason and I went down to admissions to pre-register for labor and delivery! When I went back up to the doctor's office they tested my blood and I FAILED!!! My bloodsugar was 163 and they like for it to be below 140. So, I get to go back next Tuesday for a 3 hour test! NOT FUN! But it's like I told the nurse, Logan loves the sweet things! I am going to try really hard to eat healthy over the next few days so I will hopefully pass my test. I'll know that day, so look for an update then. After that, my next appointment is July 10th and then I start going every 2 weeks, instead of 4. I can't believe I am almost in the third trimester! Time is going by so fast and I am getting really excited about meeting Logan! We are also going on July 2nd for our 4D sonogram. I will definately be posting some pics of that!

Thanks, Auntie Lauren!
Last night, Auntie Lauren stopped by to see Logan's room. Then she and Jason went to Target and got some presents! Logan has his first pieces of clothing and cute shoes! I LOVE it all and can't wait to dress him in all of it! Logan is definately going to be spoiled by his Auntie Lauren! He is already loved so much.
My next appointment is on Wednesday, for my glucose test. I'm a little nervous about drinking the nasty drink, but I hope it all goes well. Jason and I also registered for child birth classes. They begin on June 22nd and go until the end of July, once a week. I am looking forward to going and learning more about what to expect in the months ahead. I cannot believe that next week marks the end of the second trimester! Logan is going to be in our arms before we know it! Check out a picture of me at 24 weeks. My belly is growing a lot and I had to breakdown and buy a pair of maternity pants last night!

School is also over for the summer! Today was our last day and I go back tomorrow and Saturday for workdays. I am so ready to relax and await Logan's arrival! I'll post after my appointment next week.
